The 7th annual CREST day was held in the Steinman Hall Lobby on April 17, 2008. About 200
High School students attended the half-a-day event. The event kicked-off with an opening remark
by Dean Joseph Barba, Grove School of Engineering, followed by keynote addresses on “NOAA,
Remote Sensing and you” by Charles Baker, Deputy Assistant Administrator, Satellite and
Information Services; “The future of Satellites and their applications” by Dr. Alfred Powell,
Director, STAR/ NESDIS/NOAA; and “EO-IR Earth Surveillance Systems 2008 Status” by
Anthony DiNardo, Chief Scientist, SBIRS, Northrop Grumman. The program concluded with
CREST Students poster session and lunch.
